3D Printer Filament in Egypt
Where to buy 3D printer filament in Egypt
SolidForms sells the same filament we use on our own print farm in Cairo. We only stock spools that print reliably on our machines, and we deliver across Egypt.
- Premium filament range: Patron PLA+, Matte PLA, Marble PLA, PETG-HS and more.
- FG Filament: the premium filament we use for our own production.
Price: PLA+ starts at about 680 EGP per 1 kg spool (October 2026).
Which filament should you buy?
- PLA / PLA+: the easiest to print and the best for models, decor and figures. It softens at around 55 to 60 °C, so keep it out of hot cars and direct sun.
- PETG: tougher and more heat-tolerant than PLA, good for functional parts and containers.
- ABS and ASA: heat-resistant, and ASA also resists UV, so it is the right choice for outdoor parts in Egypt. Both print best on an enclosed printer.
- TPU: flexible, for phone cases, gaskets and grips.
- Carbon fibre blends (PLA-CF, PETG-CF, PA-CF): stiff and strong, and need a hardened nozzle.
See every material in detail on our materials page.
How to store filament in Egypt's humidity
- Keep spools in a sealed box or bag with silica gel (desiccant) when you are not printing.
- Dry PETG, nylon and TPU before printing if they have been open for a while. A filament dryer or a dryer-equipped colour system helps.
- Signs of wet filament: popping or hissing sounds, stringing, rough surfaces and weak parts.
- Store spools away from sunlight and heat.
How long does a 1 kg spool last?
A small figure uses about 20 to 50 g, a phone stand about 40 to 60 g, and a large helmet can use 700 g or more. Most hobby users finish a spool every few weeks.
